Service Agreement

This applies to all new and future orders as of January 31, 2026:

We support credit card, cash or check as methods of payment. The order will be processed after receiving a 25% deposit. This will reserve your spot in queue and allow us to purchase materials in advance.  Final balance will be due upon completion of book.

All estimates are presented as a price range based on projected time and materials. However, for invoicing purposes, the estimate is quoted at the lowest amount in the range, as our accounting system does not accommodate variable pricing. Final invoicing will reflect the actual time, and adjustments will be made accordingly.

Bookbinding is a tedious process taking much time and skill. We are unable to truly predict a start time for your order one year in advance. The estimated start date is only an estimate. We may be behind due to unexpected circumstances and/or because of repairs on other orders preceding your order. By signing this contract, the timeline of the start and completion of your order will not be cause for termination of agreed contract. If there is a new deadline (anniversary gift, birthday, holiday gift) outside of the original contract, it will now be considered an expedited order and will require an expedited fee. A new contract will be written to include the expedited charge and agreed upon by both client and business Armaria Bookbindery.

Occasionally, while working with an older book, we may encounter unforeseen complications that require additional repairs or render the book beyond restoration. In such cases, we will contact the client to discuss possible solutions before proceeding further. Clients will only be billed for the time already spent on the project. If the time invested falls below the initial deposit, a refund for the difference will be issued.

I understand smells may not be entirely removed. Water damage, stains, mildew also may not be repaired. I agree conservation restoration is not to make something new but preserve and strengthen the original integrity and value of the book. We maintain the original antique appearance but preserve and strengthen the structure with some aesthetic improvements.

Shipping Liability: If the book or Bible is to be returned by mail, Armaria Bookbindery is not responsible for any loss or damage that occurs after the package has been handed over to the shipping carrier. Clients may request additional shipping options such as insurance and/or signature confirmation at an additional cost. These services must be arranged and paid for prior to shipment.

Our work is guaranteed for life. We are not responsible for damage caused by accidents or improper handling and care.

By paying the 25% deposit, we agree to the above Service Agreement.
